Farmhouse at Caprese Michelangelo in Upper Tiber Valley

Welcome!

We give You our warm welcome to our farm and country house in San Polo, a tiny village with an ancient history, part of the small municipality of Caprese Michelangelo and facing the enchanting Valtiberina in Tuscany, the valley across which the river Tiber flows. Here you will enjoy panoramic views over the green valley of Singerna and Montedoglio lake, overlooking forests that beckons you to trek through them and ancient villages with deep historical backgrounds.

Staying at our farmhouse you will get the chance to immerse yourself in beautiful landscapes where man's work is in harmony with the surrounding countryside. Close to the Tuscan Apennines and to the borders of Umbria, Emilia Romagna and the Marche, these lands are cultivated with meticulous care and passion and the hills are covered with calm, untouched forests. Civilisation here only consists in quaint medieval villages, lonely hermitages and settlements made of stone, cotto and wood, playing host to many artists and great people of the past.
A good example of that is the municipality of Caprese Michelangelo. Far away in time and space from historical event sites, it has nevertheless given birth to Michelangelo Buonarroti and has hosted more than once St. Francis of Assisi. Legend has it that St. Francis once made a spring gush forth (it is still here today) and performed a miracle during the restoration works on the village church.
Close to here there is Sansepolcro, the birthplace of the master of perspective and light Piero della Francesca and where was born and lived Luca Pacioli, the genius of Renaissance mathematics, Anghiari, that inspired the Leonardo's masterpiece "the Anghiari's battle", and Monterchi, where you can admirate "La Madonna del Parto" fresco.

The products of the agricultural firm are available in the restaurant to our visitors, including Olive Oil, season fruits and vegetables, hazelnuts and the famous giant chestnut - for which Caprese Michelangelo is renowned - and above all hams, sausages and salami made with "Cinta Senese" porks, an ancient breed, typically tuscan, that grows and feeds free in our chestnut and oak forests.

This is the place where we've always been living. Our family business takes care of the land we all are deeply bound to and from now on is willing to welcome those who want to share with us our passion for this land or those who simply look for some peaceful and calm retreat where they can relax and enjoy local food.
That is the reason why we have carefully restored our ancient houses preserving their original warmth. Nevertheless they come equipped with all comforts and conveniences of home. We are confident that our efforts will give you the chance of enjoying a pleasant stay.

Once more: Welcome!!!
